Five Shots, Two Hospitalized
"MILTON, FL — Two men were shot in the head multiple times Saturday morning in an apparent attempted murder-suicide but were still alive Saturday evening.
"Around 7:30 a.m., Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 hang-up call at 5607 Kingery Road, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release. They found two residents, 31-year-old Malcolm Skipper and his girlfriend’s father, 68-year-old Federico Acain, with multiple gunshot wounds.
"Acain shot Skipper three times in the head with a .22 caliber gun loaded with `short` rounds, the release said. Acain then shot himself in the head twice.
"Acain was taken to Baptist Hospital in Pensacola where he was listed in critical condition. The Sheriff’s Office said Skipper was also taken to Baptist Hospital, but there was no record of him at any hospitals in Pensacola or Milton.
"Sgt. Scott Haines couldn’t confirm what hospital Skipper was taken to or what condition he was in, but said Saturday evening that both men were alive.
"Haines wouldn’t say whether other people were present for or involved in the shooting, and a motive is not yet known. The incident appears to be an attempted murder-suicide, Haines said.
"`It appears that that’s what the intentions were, as of now it didn’t pan out that way,` he said."
