Mom Stabs Twins, Sets Apartment On Fire

"FAIRFIELD, CA — A Fairfield woman stabbed her twin 3-year-old daughters to death, then stabbed and wounded herself and set the family's apartment on fire, police said today.

"Firefighters responding to the blaze at the Summit at Paradise Valley apartment complex at 3001 North Texas St. at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday found the girls' bodies and the mother, police said.

"The victims' names have not been released. The mother was taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek with non-life-threatening injuries.

"The fire was confined to the family's apartment."
