Suspicious Death May Be Botched Murder-Suicide

"KASOTA, MN — A 23-year-old man was arrested Friday in connection to the death of a 20-year-old woman at an apartment complex in Kasota, Minn.

"Le Sueur County Sheriff Tom Doherty says deputies went to Ridgely Park Apartments Friday after getting a call that a body would be found there. Meanwhile, the Sherburne County sheriff's office says an Elk River man was arrested in the investigation.

"Friends of the victim, identified as Jessica Buboltz, told us that she had only moved into the Ridgely Park Apartments recently.

"`She was one of the sweetest people ever, always happy. She would literally give you the shirt off her back if you needed it,` said a friend Sally Gatzke, who said she had just spent some time with Jessica Thursday night.

"Investigators say something in the following hours went very wrong between Buboltz and Tyler Wicklund.

"Deputies think after Wicklund killed Buboltz, he drove 90 miles with their 1-year-old daughter with him to his house in Elk River. Just before 10 a.m. Friday, Wicklund was threatening to kill himself and when help arrived, police said he told them about what he did."
