Pending Divorce, Health Problems Motivated Murder/Suicide
"COLLINSVILLE, IL — Two people are dead after what appears to be a murder-suicide in Collinsville, Illinois.
"It began around 12:30 a.m. on Friday on Deer Chase.
"Authorities received a 911 call from a relative reporting that 41-year-old Patricia McNatt had been shot. Police arrived on the scene and found Patricia in her bedroom shot to death. She had been shot multiple times with a .38 caliber.
"The suspect was Patricia's estranged husband 42-year-old Paul McNatt.
"Police found his white Chevrolet truck a short time later in the 2100 block of North 60th Street in Washington Park, Illinois.
"Paul's body was discovered inside the truck with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot to the head. The .38 caliber revolver was located in his possession.
"The preliminary investigation revealed Paul was involved in a motor vehicle crash and suffered head trauma during that accident. A family member indicated that Paul's disposition was adversely affected during the motor vehicle crash.
