Pair Survives Botched Murder/Suicide

"HOMER, LA — Claiborne Parish sheriff’s investigators are still trying to nail down information about an apparent attempted murder and attempted suicide that happened Tuesday afternoon, Sheriff Ken Bailey said.

"Names and specifics were not immediately available. However, Bailey confirmed the injured couple are husband and wife and both are in LSU Hospital in Shreveport.

"`He shot her then himself,` Bailey said.

"The incident occurred at an oil well location east of Lisbon after 4 p.m. LifeAir flew one of the victims and Pafford Air One the other.

"Bailey said investigators were unable to get information from the couple Tuesday because of their conditions. They hope to be able to talk to them today."
