Teens Find Mom & Dad Dead

"WHITE PLAINS, MD — Charles County police reported they are investigating the shooting deaths of a White Plains couple, saying the husband appears to have killed his wife before taking his own life in their home early Friday morning.

"The couple's 13-year-old son heard a noise and walked upstairs to the master bedroom to discover his father's body, reported Diane Richardson, spokeswoman for the Charles County Sheriff's Office. He called for his 16-year-old sister, who discovered their mother's body in the same room, Richardson said.

"Sheriff's officers went to the Osterly Court home [approximately here] at about 8 a.m. and found a handgun lying near the man, police reported. The gun was registered to him, Richardson said.

"She said police are awaiting autopsy results to determine whether the man shot his wife and then himself."
